Your body, your guide; cultivating a relationship with the intuitive language of your body

By Julie Cusmariu – October 28, 2008

We have to give our bodies credit for their innate wisdom. We also don’t need to know exactly why something is happening in our bodies in order to respond to it. You don’t need to to know why your heart is racing or why you feel like crying. Understanding comes after you have allowed yourself to experience what you’re feeling.” Dr. Christiane Northrup. Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom

Our body is our ally, it is our guiding vessel that is always speaking to us, offering us messages to direct us on a path to greater healing and fulfillment. The physical manifestations we experience in our body are meant for us to first experience and then meet with understanding.

What intuitive guidance are you receiving from your body today?

Is there unresolved emotional pain trying to be expressed through physical symptoms? Is there an imminent change ready to happen in your life that seems to be getting your attention through your body? Our bodies know when a relationship no longer works or a job is becoming stale. Our bodies know when the company of friends feels right and also when it doesn’t. What is your body telling you today?

Notice the beliefs you hold around your body and notice if you judge the feelings and/or sensations as wrong or bad. What do you believe to be true about your body ? Are you connected to your body and it’s own innate intelligence? Do you know that it holds wise and healing messages for your life ? Our body is the vessel in which our life force moves and expresses itself and connects us intimately to ourselves and all of life. Taking the time each day to honor our bodies and listen and express gratitude to our bodies will greatly enahance our sense of knowing about ourselves and will sharpen our intuitive awareness.

When you notice a gentle feeling like when ‘something feels off’, or you feel a headache coming on, fatigue or discomfort, take the time to listen and be present to the sensation. Trust that your body is trying to bring to your attention something in your life that wants love, understanding, care or action.

Building your trust and respect for your body will contribute to your overall emotional, mental, physical & spiritual health and well-being. Loving the body you are in and relating to your body as your greatest ally will enhance your intuitive guidance available to you each moment of the day.

May you trust the wisdom of your body and may your relationship with the intuitive language of your body grow deeper and more enriched in each moment.

All the best to you!
