Mother’s Intuition: Learning to develop your intuition (even if you’re not a mother)

by Julie | May 14th, 2008

We’ve all heard about mother’s intuition. At some point in our lives we may have experienced it as the unseen guiding force behind mother always knowing what’s best. It is when we know in some way or another that what mother senses is usually right on, helpful and accurate. Mother’s intuition when consulted and then trusted often brings relief, ease and love to those around her, especially her children.

How can we all access this place within us? This place where mothers access their intuition and are able to provide well-being and security to their children and loved ones.

Growing up, my mother trusted her intuition and shared it freely and openly with me and the rest of my family. I never quite understood where her wisdom came from but I always knew that it was strikingly wise and accurate. I learned from my mother that I too could access this place within me, just as she did. Over time, I began awakening to the wisdom of my own intuition and I learned to trust it and honor it deeply. My intuition has proved time and time again to be my trusted inner guide that each day provides me with my own best answers and direction along my way.

Each and every one of us has a direct line to our intuition. With curiosity and trust we can learn to use our intuition to enhance our everyday life. We are all wired to receive intuitive hunches, gut instincts and knowing beyond rational thought. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, employees, employers, friends… all of us have access to intuition. It is our sixth sense that is always speaking to us and that we can choose to listen to and use to our advantage in our lives.

What is your intuition revealing to you today? Is it helping you make better decisions ? Is it providing you with more clarity, confidence and inner peace ? Notice. Who better than you to notice and receive what you need to inspire your day and lead you in the direction of your highest good.

May your intuition serve you just as a mother’s intuition would serve her child.

Below is a picture taken of my mother and I on Mother’s Day in front of a beautiful cherry blossom. This blog entry is dedicated to my mother, Trudy, and all the wisdom she generously shares with me and others in her life. I am always learning from her and I am so grateful for her presence in my life.

"Extensively trained and wonderfully easy to connect with, Julie helps people develop intuition as a tool for tuning in – to ourselves and others – through her coaching, consulting, writing, website, blog, and radio broadcasts. In every one of Julie’s broadcasts I’ve listened to and in the online pages and emails I’ve read, her calming manner, deep wisdom, and genuine willingness to listen and learn shine through."

"The HeartBeat radio show on the internet is refreshing. Julie holds down to earth conversations with interesting intelligent people and I come away informed, inspired and encouraged. I feel like I'm sitting with friends having a chat - but the conversations are with these amazing leaders and authors! - Julie's way draws me in and I feel I'm part of the intimate setting and am actually having a chance to get to know and meet her guests ... her friends! It's a good moment to get me over my mid-week slump - exactly when I need it most."
