We have to give our bodies credit for their innate wisdom. We also don’t need to know exactly why something is happening in our bodies in order to respond to it. You don’t need to to know why your heart is racing or why you feel like crying. Understanding comes after you have allowed yourself to experience what you’re feeling.” Dr. Christiane Northrup. Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom

Our body is our ally, it is our guiding vessel that is always speaking to us, offering us messages to direct us on a path to greater healing and fulfillment. The physical manifestations we experience in our body are meant for us to first experience and then meet with understanding.

What intuitive guidance are you receiving from your body today?

Is there unresolved emotional pain trying to be expressed through physical symptoms? Is there an imminent change ready to happen in your life that seems to be getting your attention through your body? Our bodies know when a relationship no longer works or a job is becoming stale. Our bodies know when the company of friends feels right and also when it doesn’t. What is your body telling you today?

Intuition is the voice within us that instantly knows what is right for us. It is our personal truth teller. It is the voice that carries with it feelings of certainty, rightness, comfort and peace. It is essential to realize that our intuition is always working with us and for us and serves our best interest and development.

So how then do we know for sure if the thoughts and feelings we experience are coming from our intuition? How can we know if these thoughts and feelings are not motivated by fear or wishful thinking masked by our ego? “Trust Yourself” she encouragingly stated. When asked to state the message of her teachings in a few words or less (by interviewers), Gangaji said to us she always answers with these two important words.

Gangaji shared so many important words with us over the 5 day silent retreat at Kripalu last week. As we entered into silence Gangaji invited us to discover the silence within and experience what is already inside of us, at the core of us. She invited us to stop and be still. To stop the searching, stop the doing and stop the trying. We were encouraged to simply BE.

Whose business are you in ?

After watching author and teacher Byron Katie’s interview on Oprah’s SoulSeries webcast the other night (see link below), I was reminded of some important and powerful questions Katie uses in the process she calls The Work. These questions help individuals bring peace to their stressful thoughts and are simple and easy to use by everyone.

In my personal life and also professionally as a Life Coach and Intuitive Consultant, I benefit from asking these questions to inquire into my own thoughts. As I do this, I am naturally guided back to myself, back to my own wisdom and my own self-responsibilities.

I attended The 9 day school for The Work in April of this year and benefited profoundly from the experience. Because it is such a powerful process, I am always eager to be reminded of the tools that make it so meaningful. Watching Katie the other night reminded me of those tools: Simple yet profound questions used to inquire into our stressful thoughts to bring us greater peace and freedom.

One of the questions Katie invites us to ask through the process of The Work is :

Whose business am I in?

According to Bryon Katie’s The Work, there are 3 different types of business.

“It is always with excitement that I wake up in the morning wondering what my intuition will toss up at me, like gifts from the sea. I work with it and rely on it. It’s my partner. “

Jonas Salk
