“Follow the flow…trust….breathe…allow…surrender…relax…listen to yourself ”

Often easier said than done, but nonetheless these are wise and profound words I have often been advised to adpot and words I remind myself of daily. Certainly when I am in a state of flow and trusting the natural evolution of the day and life in general, greater ease arises (less struggle with reality) and I am more able to fall into a space of present moment awareness. This is a space which feels to me like a space inhabited by depth, richness and openness. It is a space that gives rise to one’s intuition (which is one’s truth) and is a space that feels right to be in to make better and more conscious decisions for one’s life.

This is the process of trusting your intuition and arriving at a peaceful acceptance of ‘what is’, as ‘what is’, is a moment really worth appreciating. It is a moment filled with a vastness beyond our imagination that holds the gentle whispers of our greatest evolution and unfoldment into the very next moment and then the next and then the next…

I came across this video of Thomas Hübl who talks about intuition, flow, and tensions that arise physiologically when we don’t follow the flow in our lives. We have the capacity to release the tension within our bodies and in our lives and get unstuck. If we listen to our own wisdom and inner truth, it can happen.

Watch the short video here

I just received bestselling author Margaret J. Wheatley ’s newest book ‘ Perseverance’ today in the mail. What a precious, gem of a book . Very quickly it seemed obvious to me that everyone should own a copy. Certainly it is the perfect book for me to open up today and read. As Margaret (Meg) says to the reader ” This book is my offering to you if you seek to be one who perseveres. If you hope that your work and life contribute to making things better, not worse, for the people, issues and places you love“. Yes, Meg, you are speaking to me and the people I know and love and work with and support on their journey through life.

As I hold ‘ Perserverance’ in my hands, my senses come alive. I can feel the wisdom oozing from the book through its cover. The size of the book is very lovely and easy to hold, with its pretty soft pages, delicately illustrated, I love flipping through it and finding nugget after nugget of wisdom. Each page a new offering, an insightful perspective, a quotation, poem or essay to take in and to satisfy the evolving soul.

I really look forward to my conversation with Meg on Heart Beat Sept.1 as she joins me to share more about her book and her pioneering work in the area of leadership and organizational change . Please join us by listening live at 4pm ET on Wednesday Sept.1st. When you log in to BlogTalkRadio, join us in the chat room and send in your questions. All shows are available for download immediately following the broadcast.
Have you ever taken a 21 day challenge? 21 days to meditation or intuition? Are you up for it?

Of course I’m all for intuition and meditation but I’m not one to jump up at the prospect of a 30 day, 21 day or even a 14 day challenge to do so. I guess I’m more into experiencing the everyday challenges that arise naturally or that I seek out without a predetermined end date. I’m all for action and inspiration, and I’m all for determination and the realization of a vision (which I find in my own unique way, thankfully), but I do feel slightly more repelled than compelled to enlist in a 21 day challenge. As a result, I am interested to hear from those of you who have signed up to a 21 day challenge and what you experienced . I imagine you experienced great benefit and I would love to hear about it in the comment box below.

Science seems to suggest that repetitive behavior for 21 days instills in us new habits. So, please share what the benefits have been like for you?

The inspiration for this blog post, is due in fact to a 21 day challenge! The Chopra Centre’s 21 day meditation challenge to be specific, which I was introduced to just this past week by my friend Tammy in California. Though I have not taken on the challenge, I am drawn back to their web site almost each day to enjoy the daily meditations posted. Daily meditations are guided by Davidji- a very like-able and insightful meditation guide who is also the Lead Meditation Teacher and Dean of Chopra Center University ( Some days he posts audio meditations and other days he posts beautiful video meditations). In turn I want to share them with you. So I am benefiting from this 21 day meditation challenge in my own way, at my own pace. Perhaps you’ll enjoy them too!?

As a life coach I understand the philosophy and appeal of these 21 day challenges. Accountability, self-responsibility and repetition of behaviors while gaining the support of like minded individuals is extremely motivating. And come to think of it, maybe it’s something I could add to my list of personal to do’s and also professional services that I offer going forward. Maybe something like ‘Julie’s 21 day intuition challenge‘ might provide another way to support individuals looking to connect to their intuition ?

Wouldn’t taking 21 days to commit to anything you feel inspired by enrich your life ?

hmmm…

Though I began this blog post with a mild distaste for the idea of a 21 day challenge, in a matter of minutes, okay maybe hours, I’ve developed a new found interest. I can’t say I am going to jump to it, but I realize that for whatever one decides to pursue and commit to wholeheartedly and with devotion, the journey is sure to be rich. Please share your comments below and let me know what it’s been like for you and any other thoughts you may want to share.

I am excited by and committed to the direction revealed to me by my intuitive promptings each day. The curiosity and trust I place in my intuition allows me to be steered in the direction that best serves my own evolution. As I act upon these gentle promptings with certainty and conviction, the way is more easily and clearly revealed. I am always learning how to best listen to, trust upon and allow the experience of my intuition to support me in my life. As I increase my capacity to discern authenticity from image, soul from ego and essential nature(self) from personality, my fulfillment and satisfaction deepens. Uncovering and trusting one’s intuition is no doubt a life long process, one that I am enthralled by because it is so enriching and vital to living a purposeful and meaningful life. Andrew Cohen, spiritual teacher and founder of EnlightenNext Magazine says it so well in his article ‘Authentic Intuition‘. It is one of my recent favourites and speaks volumes. Enjoy and please share your comments below. I would love to hear from you to learn how your authentic intuition reveals itself. Click here to read Andrew Cohen’s article on Authentic Intuition.

Following your intuition is about being in the moment, constantly aware of your feelings, sensations and perceptions. There is nothing more you need to do other than be aware of what is going on for you and what feels true for you in the moment. Once that moment is over, you’re already on to the next moment when you can again check in and see what is true for you then. Relieve yourself of the responsibility of needing to know about what might or might not happen next week or in 6 months. If you can simply occupy yourself with the moment, (breathe, feel your body and tune in to what feels right for you), you will be on your way towards moving ahead and you will naturally be guided into the next right action. Whatever needs to show up for you will, as in each moment there is a revelation of how and what you need for your next best step. This is a process that takes practice and trust in oneself and in time gets easier and becomes more fulfilling. As we tune in to each moment we tune in to the most valuable source of wisdom we have access to, the truth that resides within us.

To your awareness and self- discovery.

All the best!
