<p>I’m reflecting on what I heard High Sensitivity expert and consultant (and cherished guest on my podcast) <a href="http://www.AlaneFreund.com">Alane Freund </a>share the other day, which landed me, in just the right place.</p>
<blockquote><p>Alane said especially right now, in these times, we need to be <strong>“DOUBLING UP ON SELF-CARE.”<br />
</strong><br />
Alane also said, <strong>“When it gets hard, it’s harder to take care of yourself.” And what can help is “having an accountability partner.”</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>How does this land for you?</p>
<p>What can you do that can take care of you? What can you do for self-care? Is it a double dose of self-care? Single-dose? Half- dose? Is it awareness and curiosity about what it can be and how it can feel? An accountability partner? You matter. Your needs matter. When the well gets filled we can then share what’s in the well with others. This is what motivates me. Every day really. With myself. My family. Friends. Clients. Unknown connections out in the world. When we can take care of ourselves we can take care of others and other things that need our care. #youroxygenmaskfirst</p>
<p>I’m either operating from a well that’s being replenished or I’m aware when it’s going on empty. When it’s filling up I can do the work (and I can do it better- parenting for example) that is mine to do and that calls me to it. It’s a daily practice and with one step and then the next, the way forward thankfully is here. Now.</p>

<p>Feelings are our indicators, our guidance, energy in our body chemistry that require our attention, processing and honouring. May you feel your feelings. The doorway to vitality and meaning and healing. .:</p>
<p>Can we welcome our feelings? The feelings of others when they share them with us? The feelings of our children, our friends, our colleagues, our neighbours? Can we be curious about them and gain support with them, help move them so we can choose differently, be ourselves; responsive instead of reactive, open instead of closed. Calm(er) instead of on edge. It’s a process, as is much in life. Isn’t that the case. In each moment, something new. A new thought arises, a new sensation, a new feeling perhaps. How can we be with what is, in each moment?</p>
<p>May you feel today. Breathe. Notice. Take care of you and your emotional system. .</p>
<p>Cheers to this wondrous journey of being human, not without pain or conflict, not without challenge or suffering and yet filled with the potential for healing and transformation, connection, pleasure and joy.</p>
<p>Cheers to us. Cheers to this planet. Cheers to striving for better, whole, healed and shared.</p>
