This is a topic we can all relate to isn’t it? Asking for help. Brings up a lot in us. Consciously or not.
Calling on the village. It’s why I called this newest podcast series #Motherhood #LetsCreateAVillage.

It most certainly doesn’t take motherhood to need or benefit from a village but through my own experience becoming and being a mother, it’s taught me that it’s a perfect time to start building and relying on one.

When I became a mother to my first of two boys I knew I needed a ‘village’ to maintain my emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health and enable me to stay connected to myself, my desires, my yearnings, my feelings, my knowing. It’s a work in progress, bumping up against different challenges and beliefs, being stretched, enlightened and amazed by this journey. This is why I summon the village so I can further uncover the blind spots, relieve me of what I can’t do or see or cope with on my own and remind me of who I am l and who I want to be more of.

You can listen to my conversation with Dr. Elizabeth Cohen, holistic Clinical Psychologist based in NYC on how we can mother ourselves as we journey through motherhood.

Motherhood – careerhood. Nurturing ourselves, our families and our businesses. The latest episode from the series #motherhood #letscreateavillage. Listen/download the whole conversation here.

Heather Barton , osteopath, athletic therapist and assistant professor and Tinka Markham Piper, Chaos Counsel and founder of Solve My Space were in studio with me here in Montreal and they were magnificent, wise and FUNNY and are two healing forces in this world.

We talked entrepreneurship, motherhood, the importance of having a village, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual self-care and more. And there was a lot of laughing and truth telling about this journey through which we are walking : motherhood as women working, following our passion for herself, her family and her work.

After you take a listen, let me know what you most needed to hear that you did. A truth that resonates with your current experience perhaps? There is lots of wisdom that poured out from the these two women. And it was so much fun.

As a life coach and intuitive, practicing since 2007 I have supported a lot of women moving through the transition of becoming a mother, navigating family, work and maintaining a healthy sense of self and self care. If you are seeking one one one support and championing. Someone to stand in your corner be sure to check out how I can support you. It would be an honour and a pleasure to hear from you.

It takes a village. Doesn’t it ? At least I can say that from my own experience being a mom of two young boys (oh the humbling nature of this experience ) and therefore I belong to the evidence over time that shows us this is the case in fact.

Through conversations with guests experts on my podcast series #motherhood #letscreateAvillage you can tune in to perspectives and insight into supporting your mental emotional spiritual and physical journey through motherhood. It is your voice and story that enrich the conversation so join us in the chat room with your comments and questions.

We have an incredible line up of best selling authors , psychologists , scientists and heart centred leaders joining the conversation each week to inspire , support & celebrate this journey and human experience.

Do you have a village of support ? A community on hand to reach out to ? Sometimes just recognizing what our needs are enables us to realize we can’t do it alone, though we may want to, and we need to look outside ourself for support. That merely is enough to start reaching out.

There are areas I am accustomed to gaining support for and other areas I’m not. Just last night I communed with a group of women friends who are mothers and business owners. We meet once a month. It was just what I needed to refuel my energy. Though I could have justified staying in to wind down early, this gathering with my village increased my energy level, mood and as science suggests benefited my emotional and physical health. As the wise and wonderful Dr. Christiane Northrup says “community equals immunity”. Moving from me to we. Connecting, gathering, giving, receiving. There is so much to be said about enriching our social connections and being a part of something that forms the ‘we’ in our lives.

I am grateful when I find a village that feels supportive and aligned. And actually the two fantastic women who started this village of women entrepreneurs and mothers here in Montreal will be my first two guests to kick off 2018 Tinka Markham Piper Chaos Counselor and founder of Solve my Space and Osteopath and Athletic Therapist Heather Barton. Two wildly talented, bright and heart centered women.

Join us Wednesday live 2 pm ET to Julie in Conversation. # Motherhood #Let’sCreateAVillage
