Mothering ourselves through the journey of motherhood.

By Julie Cusmariu – July 16, 2018

This is a topic we can all relate to isn’t it? Asking for help. Brings up a lot in us. Consciously or not.
Calling on the village. It’s why I called this newest podcast series #Motherhood #LetsCreateAVillage.

It most certainly doesn’t take motherhood to need or benefit from a village but through my own experience becoming and being a mother, it’s taught me that it’s a perfect time to start building and relying on one.

When I became a mother to my first of two boys I knew I needed a ‘village’ to maintain my emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health and enable me to stay connected to myself, my desires, my yearnings, my feelings, my knowing. It’s a work in progress, bumping up against different challenges and beliefs, being stretched, enlightened and amazed by this journey. This is why I summon the village so I can further uncover the blind spots, relieve me of what I can’t do or see or cope with on my own and remind me of who I am l and who I want to be more of.

You can listen to my conversation with Dr. Elizabeth Cohen, holistic Clinical Psychologist based in NYC  on how we can mother ourselves as we journey through motherhood.

Elizabeth Cohen, Ph.D. is a valuable, insightful resource, mother and woman. Have a listen and come back and share your comments and what you gained from the conversation.
