Change of heart today (in reference to my previous post ‘being down on winter’). Thanks to acknowledging my emotions, my resistance, my frustration, my dismay, my disbelief, my discouragement. Thanks to it being welcomed here and offline. Thank you. Thanks to the power of energy in motion. Moving it, expressing it and having it be received. And so I got stoked about the snow this morning.
It’s clearly not always or most often not an overnight ‘fix’, but today I was grateful to feel the shift. It was even fun. I reconnected to pleasure. The pleasure found in being with’ rather than ‘struggling against’. I delighted in my kid’s giggles as we commuted (well they sat, I pulled) to school on sled (grateful we can do that and also grateful I could break a sweat) and we were all equally content when we arrived. .
Here’s to acknowledging our emotions and paying attention to our unique voice inside that wants to express and be heard and be seen. It’s amazing what witnessing and meeting it can transform. I spoke about this on the podcast this week.
Cheers to you and whatever commute you are on, in whatever climate, with whatever feeling. May you meet your emotions with curiosity and give them space to express, whether it is through writing, speaking to a friend, a family member, a trusted professional, into a microphone or other. We are energy beings that relate to and interact with our environment on multidimensional levels. Here’s to honouring that which is in you and of you and for you. Moment to moment. And to this universe, this planet.
I love , love this Julie. You have captured the reality of the struggles getting kids off to wherever they may be headed, and your honesty opens the door to a connection with you, one that comes from coming alongside you. The rosy cheeks and little rosy face of your child…and the snow…are delightful. Love this. xo. Nikita
