I am eagerly prepping to welcome Dr. Deborah MacNamara to “Julie in Conversation’ Wednesday December 13th at 2pm ET. Well, it feels like I’ve been prepping for this conversation for about 6 years, since having kids and being transformed by the relational developmental approach to child development that I discovered through the work of Dr. Gordon Neufeld and Dr. Deborah MacNamara.
I carry Deborah’s book in my back pocket (just about). It has enabled me to navigate the territory of big strong emotions in little bodies, tantrums, defiance, resistance, defensiveness, opposition, impulsivity and the like. It has given me the gift of valuable insight and understanding into my boys (children in general), adults (in general) and myself. As expressed in the book, this is an approach and understanding that not only helps grow our children grow up but it helps grow us adults up alongside them.
If you’ve ever felt bewildered, lost, overwhelmed by parenting (anyone?) while in the next moment, in awe and deep love for your children, then join us for this conversation. And if you haven’t read the book yet, know that it will benefit your emotional health and benefit your children radically. And share this with your community of parents and friends. We will all gain so much.
Are you convinced? I hope so. I look forward to hearing about your wins and challenges and your parenting journey. Your voice matters and we want to hear from you live and if you can’t be with us live then you can listen in through the archives. And do yourself a favour and read this book.
Cheers to you and this humbling, awe inspiring parenthood journey.
